The natural habitat of this type of asparagus, which is very similar to wild asparagus, is the western part of the Vega de Granada. It derives from autochthonous varieties from the Poniente area. This kind of asparagus is grown in Huétor-Tájar, Loja, Salar, Villanueva de Mesía, Moraleda de Zafayona and Íllora. It is sold fresh and is eaten grilled, cooked and is often used in scrambled eggs.
