Products with a Designation of Origin
DO Granada Honey
This Designation of Origin covers the whole province, but especially affects the area around Granada itself, where its production can be traced back for many centuries. Ibn Al-Jatib refers to honey production in his Description of the Kingdom of Granada (1313-1375). Honey production is also mentioned in the Book of Occupations of the City of Granada (1752). The unique characteristics of the local honey are derived from the local flora.
