Cultural heritage

This is a welcoming and refreshing place for people and animals. It was here that there was a resting place, La Venta, along the Camino Real de Granada. It was probably erected on the site of a Roman building judging by the remains and columns found here, which are thought to be part of a shrine dedicated to the gods of water. San Juan de la Cruz is thought to have visited this site in the 16^th century, when he was on the way to found a monastery in Granada.
