This Moorish tower is located in the centre of town and is adjoined to the church. It was the inspiration that led to the building of the series of buildings including the Casa Grande, the parish church and the current town hall.
The rectangular tower has three storeys. The ground floor contains the rain tank, accessed from the Casa Grande, and is currently being used as a pantry. The tank is circular in shape the only one of its kind found in the province.
On the south wall there is a large archway leading to the outside, but it is now walled up. It was most probably the entrance to the tower in the 16th century.
It is still in a good state of repair and is currently being refurbished. No archaeological dig has taken place on this site.
