In this area the existence of the tranvía (tram) of the Sierra Nevada, which operated from 1925-1974, is ever present. It ran from Granada to Barranco de San Juan. Its stations can still be seen today. This is one of the many attractions of Güéjar Sierra, whose route, with its many tunnels and bridges, runs between the stations of Maitena and El Charcón.
