The necropolis in the Sierra Martilla in Loja is a highlight of the archaeological heritage of the province. These are the Megalithic remains of a settlement and necropolis in the Sierra Martilla, located near the town of Loja. They are a great place to begin to understand the rich archaeological heritage of the province of Granada. The site is an extremely important one, as it contains dozen dolmens dating back to the Copper Age with one or several burial chambers half-dug out into the rock. There are also burial grounds from mediaeval times as well as an Arabic watchtower here.
