This is both the Education Centre of the Parque Natural de la Sierra de Castril and the town’s Museum of Ethnography.
The importance of the Río Castril river is the centrepiece of the centre’s tour, which is located near the town of Castril.
Walking through the centre, you can see the legacy that animals left in the area. As well the many bird species, and, of course, the inhabitants of the Sierra de Castril themselves.
The building has three floors:
- Main Floor: There is a lobby with a shop that sells local produce and a multipurpose room used as a cinema, exhibitions and conferences. It also has a lookout balcony with a magnificent view over the historic village of Castril and the river.
- Ground Floor: Here there is a permanent exhibition explaining the mountain range, the river ecosystems, the geology and ecology of the reserve.
- First Floor: This floor has a large model of the Natural Park and its surroundings.
