Mudejar Church of la Encarnación

LoadingAdd to My Granada

This church was built on the site of an old mosque. It was destroyed by fire in the Moorish revolts, and had to be rebuilt. It has a Mudejar ceiling hihglighting its Arab origin. In the 19th century the present-day tower and the side door were built.  Inside, the altarpiece is of particular interest – its lower part Baroque in style, the upper part Churrigueresque.
