This church was built in 1554 on the site of a former chapel. The successive refurbishment and restructuring projects during the 18th century gave rise to what we see today. It is built in the shape of a Latin cross with wood panelling at the far end.
Of special interest is Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows, topped with a semi-circular dome roof with Moorish decoration. The main doorway is flanked my pillars and an archway over the door.
The bell tower has four parts. In the right hand chapel you will see part of the Holy Cross, a relic that was part of the cross on which Christ was crucified.
