This chapel is dedicated to the Virgin of Bodíjar, the patron saint of the most important holiday of the area. The festival begins on 1st January with music, and over the following two days a number of events are organised. These include special masses, a procession in honour of the Virgin, wine tasting, a selection of foods, games, competitions, parades and fireworks.
The last day of the festival is dedicated to children. To celebrate this final day a children’s parade is organised, and late in the afternoon the Three Kings hand out toys to the children.
The statue of the Virgin is kept in the village church, but on the day of the procession it is carried to the chapel to be later brought back into the village.
