The Alcazaba de Guadix is famous for the excellent views you can get from its towers. From here you can see the town’s Las Cuevas neighbourhood from above.
This Arab castle dates back to the 10th and 11th centuries and was extended in the Nasrid period. It was declared an official Monument of National Interest and is easily recognisable because of its reddish colour.
It was built for defensive purposes and is made up of a large wall and several square towers.
