La Alcazaba watchtower

LoadingAdd to My Granada

Situated on the plain at the foot of the Cerro del Zahor, the Fuerte de la Alcazaba is a typical farmhouse tower, known also as the Torre de Márgena. It was built in the 14th century. Its defensive style indicates that it was used to monitor the surrounding roads. On some of its walls you can see a plastering of reddish colour similar to some of the walls of the Alhambra.
