The Virgen de la Cabeza, whose celebration takes place the last Sunday of April, has a good fame in the county of the High Plateau. Cullar celebrates it with magnificent parades of Moors and Christians to the Levante style. The participants wear spectacular clothes and go around the streets marching, keeping the traditional representation of the so called “roles”. These are a sort of play divided in two parts that are usually performed in two different days. They follow the rule of arriving to the middle with the partial victory of the Arabs to finish with the definitive victory of the Christians. With this victory the final conversion of the Arabs takes place in front of the Virgin.
