The Balneario de Alhama is a monument of great historical interest. The balneario is a perfectly preserved set of baths dating back to the 12th century built by the Arabs.
The baths are located at the end of a colourful gorge enclosed in a landscape of rocks, water and lush vegetation. Its special thermal waters are said to help alleviate the symptoms of rheumatism, arthritis and respiratory problems, and were used for medicinal purposes as far back as the Roman period. In its central chamber there is a fountain that springs up between two pointed arches.
