The Alhambra was declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1984. Nowadays, it constitutes one of the most interesting and beautiful monuments, not only of Granada, but of all Spain. It was built as a watching centre, later it became a palace and court complex. The Alhambra tells the visitor, through its walls, gardens, halls and courtyards, its history and its legend. From the viewpoint of San Nicholas, in the neighbourhood of the Albaicín, the best and more spectacular views of the Alhambra and the Generalife can be seen.
