The Observatorio Turístico(Tourism Observatory)of the Patronato Provincial de Turismo (Provincial Council of Tourism) of Granada, represents a survey including data regarding the tourist demand, the hotel occupation, the movement of travelling people, the overnight stays, the most visited monuments, the average expenses of each visitor and his degree of satisfaction, among other variables. It was created in 1998 by the Patronato to obtain a reliable document about the tourist fluctuations using 6.000 inquiries carried about by users of the Tourist Information Offices and people in the streets. With these data, the Patronato publishes the annual reports, available in Spanish as document PDF.
