It is most important of the three cores, since it houses the head of the district and the City council. It is located over Fondón and below Guájar Alto and its name means “hidden garden”. Near its core, crowning a hill, there is a fortified town in very good state of conservation called El Castillejo. It could have been built between the end of the XIII century and the beginning of the XIV, in the heat of the Almohade domination.
