Its name is the short name of Ferreira and is equivalent to “small iron mine”. It is located between ravines, and when approaching to it only the tower of the church notices its presence to us. Ferreirola is known by the quality of its waters. It houses an interesting house-school for visitors, where the Castilian language, the history and customs of the Andalusian town are taught, with special dedication to the folklore and the traditional gastronomy of the Alpujarra.
