Mondújar

Tourist information

For many centuries Mondújar’s parish church, dating back to the 16th century was the municipality’s main church. Mondujar is part of the municipality of Lecrín. Its medieval castle that no longer exists made it a place of some importance. It was here where the penultimate king of Granada, Muley Hacén, died. He commissioned the castle to be built for Isabel de Solis, who converted to Islam and took on the name Soraya.
