Tourist information

The name of the town comes from the diminutive of ‘Ferreira’ and means ‘small iron mine’. It is one of the towns that make up the municipality of La Taha. It is located amongst steep ravines and only the sight of the church tower in the distance gives its existence away.

Ferreirola is known for the quality of its waters. In this town there is an interesting school for foreigners, where Spanish is taught, together with the history and customs of the Andalusian people, with particular emphasis on folklore and traditional cuisine of La Alpujarra.
