This tower was built as a fortress with buildings and walls around it. It is of great architectural interest because of its structure and because of the decoration in its interior (semi-circular arches, archivolts, columns with capitals). It was part of a fortified enclosure used as refuge for the nearby farmhouses in case of danger or military attacks. From its roof you get a fantastic view of the plain below, which was of significant strategic importance when defending the area. It was declared National Monument in 1922.
