Pozo de la Virgen

LoadingAdd to My Granada

This is a place of legend. During the Moorish revolt the carving of the Virgen del Martirio was burned and used as a bridge over a ditch, from where an unknown Christian rescued it and hid it at the bottom of this well. Legend says that 40 years later, when the well was being cleaned, the statue lit up and said  “Martirio me llamo” (my name is Martirio).
