Iglesia parroquial de la Visitación de la Virgen

LoadingAdd to My Granada

This church was built by the Catholic Kings on the site of a former mosque after the surrender of the Nasrid kingdom. It is built in Mudejar style and is dedicated to the mystery of the Visitation of Mary. The most interesting elements of the church are its valuable coffered ceilings, the main altarpiece and the statue of the Holy Mary. Also of great interest are the 17th and 18h-century arched benches, used to store religious objects, and the paintings and sculptures contained in the side chapels.
