This museum is dedicated to the press in Granada and is the only one of its kind in Spain. Here the visitors can see three centuries worth of local journalism, as well as an extensive collection of headlines that epitomise the editorial and journalistic tradition in Granada.
The museum is situated in the headquarters of the local press association. Sample copies of the newspapers La Tribuna, La Publicidad and El Progreso are all available here. Some of the most interesting pieces on display are the comic strips drawn in ink on card by the artist Miranda, a drawing by Guillermo Soria to commemorate the closure of the paper Diario Patria and a photograph of the editorial team of El Defensor de Granada, with its director Constantine Carnero Ruiz in the forefront.
Together with paper copies of the newspapers, examples of printing technology are also exhibited, including cameras, typewriters, typometres and typesetters, among other objects.
