The church was built in the 16th century on the site of an former mosque. The interior has a single rectangular room of considerable size with the choir at the end.

The main altar is covered by a semi-circular dome and has a gilded wooden altarpiece with paintings attributed to the school of Alonso Cano. The façade is plain and whitewashed and the roof is covered with tiles on both sides. The bell tower contains five bells.
