Iglesia de la Anunciación

LoadingAdd to My Granada

Building work began in 1500 on the site of a former mosque, although an inscription on the outside the church states that the works continued until 1634. It is a rectangular church with three naves separated by arches.

The main nave is covered by a wooden Mudejar ceiling and there is a chancel and a choir at one end. Inside the church there is an important archive containing interesting files from the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as images of the patron saint of the town, Francisco Serrano de Frias, the Virgin of the Rosary and of Jesus.
