Day of San Anton

LoadingAdd to My Granada

On this date they have bonfires (or boliches as they call them in this village) to roast meat. The inhabitants of this village sing traditional songs while the kids roll the hachos on fire, fabricated with plaited esparto grass. It is a tradition as well in this celebration to throw oranges from the top of the San Anton Hill so other villagers can pick them up below. Besides, in the mentioned hill, a lot of people go up to dance around the hermitage of the saint.
