This church, dedicated to Santa María de la Alhambra, was built on the foundations of the great royal mosque. Juan de Herrera designed the new temple from 1581. This church is in the shape of a Latin cross, with six side chapels on both sides of the single nave. Inside the church are interesting works of art such as the main altarpiece by Juan López de Almagro.
